Being a part of the West Indian American Day Carnival Association’s Junior carnival is very near and dear to the founder of this organization. Mrs. Donna Edmonds was born on the beautiful island nation of Trinidad where at a young age moved to the United States of America and resided in Brooklyn, New York.
Growing up in a West Indian home, her parents prepared West Indian meals, played the sounds of Caribbean music and instilled in her positive cultural morals and values. Living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn also influenced her love for the culture by the surrounding Caribbean atmosphere. From the bakeries, shops and restaurants to Labor Day weekend and all its festivities.
Through Donna’s passion for the Caribbean culture and inspiring young children, she has envisioned for this organization to be an influential powerhouse in the Brooklyn Caribbean community.
Soca Royals Mas will be a new up and coming mas band in New York City’s Caribbean Junior carnival (Labor Day Weekend). We anticipate for our first participating year to be in 2023.
We hope to be your top choice in choosing a top quality children’s mas band!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay informed of all Soca Royals’ updates.
